Hand drumming is fun, healing, and deeply satisfying to our souls and spirits. In our gathering we will explore rhythm together including some teaching, some jamming, and some following the rhythms where they lead us. If you are interested in hand drumming, please join us. If you do not have a drum, dr …

Drumming is a great way to build community, to create a sense of togetherness and belonging, and to learn to listen and respond. It is also a way to let go of the cares of the day and allow your body to flow into the rhythm of the moment with no agenda - only the being-ness of now. We welcome you into our circle: be you dancer …

Our first few meetings will guide the direction of this group. We will explore sound forms, learn simple percussion and drumming techniques, and play a few rhythms. After the basics, we will simply play and discover the particular energy of the group and let it evolve from there. Please bring something to the group that makes a sound but isn't a traditional instrument. Get creative and find something you like, be it pots and pans, keys, beans, a soda bottle, etc. You are also welcome to bring …
One of the most appealing things about drum circles is that they are different every time. Much depends on who comes, and what instruments we use. Participants are welcome to bring their own drums, or use any of mine. My aim as a facilitator is to encourage conversational rhythm and sound. Sometimes we learn specific rhythms together, and then improvise. Other times we just play freely. Often we choose instruments that blend to create unique ensemble sounds. Even though I always have a …

Participants will acquire deep contact with their natural rhythms and pulses (heart pulse, breath pulse, walking pulse…), amazing experiences of multi-layered rhythmics; they will learn to play a percussion instrument (up to an advanced level); they will learn a fun, connected way of concentrating and keeping attention out of thought mode; they will cleanse themselves from stagnated emotions in the trance of drumming and chanting alone. And they will experience the older-than-the-world feeling o …

Founded in 2004, A3D (African Development through Drum and Dance) started with a group of friends who traveled to Senegal, West Africa on a two week journey that forever changed their lives. After experiencing the sights and sounds of Africa, it became clear that many of the things we take for granted, most of the people there either never had or need more of, but will likely not be able to achieve without help from outside. Some of those things include medicines, school computers, and much mo …
